How to Look Great at the Gym

One thing that stops some people from going to the gym is the fear that they do not look great in work-out clothes. Dowdy gym clothes have a way of eating away at one’s dignity. This is why it is a good idea to buy flattering workout gear. The more attractive you feel the more confident you will feel and the more likely you are to make it to the fitness center in the first place.

One instant way to look good is to forget about the elastic band and then wrap a bandana around your head.  This works just as well as a sweat band to keep sweat drops out of your eyes and looks more attractive.  Also scrunchies are back and look nice tying up a top knot with a bit of a pony-tail on top of your head.  If you are worried about showing up to the gym with a bad hair day then you can also try wearing a baseball cap and looping your hair in a pony tail through the hole at the back of the cap.


One surprise to people who think that black is slimming might be interested to know that the color now gives the impression that you are trying to hide your body or weight. That is because everyone knows now that wearing black is supposed to be a trimming trick. Instead wear colorful clothes that you genuinely like.


If you are overweight try wearing yoga pants with a loose giant T-shirt. This might help take the edge of your self-consciousness and it is a very in-style retro look that is flattering on most plus-size people.


Yet another detail that can help pull together your look is a light-weight short work-out jacket.  This is also a good thing to wear if you are going jogging and it is cold outside.


If you do not like parading around in boy shorts and a muscle T-shirt keep in mind that you can buy work-out clothes nowadays that look more like street-wear. These workout clothes have the functionality and coolness of work-out clothes but have capped sleeves or crossed bodices with ties or waists with pockets and details. This normalizes your look somewhat and for some people it makes them feel more at easy and casual when working out.  As an added plus you can also wear this type of clothing outside of the gym if need be.
